We know surgery can be intimidating. You not only have to prepare for what to expect before and during surgery, but you also have to know what to expect afterward in order to achieve optimal results. We offer preoperative classes, educational videos and other resources to manage your expectations and put you on the path to recovery before you enter the operating room.

During surgery and immediately following, our surgical team at Skagit Regional Health takes a proactive approach to reduce the risk of complications and infections. We ensure you understand and agree with your care plan prior to discharge and we schedule postoperative follow-up appointments to ensure you’re recovering as planned. During this time, we will recommend exercises for you to begin rehabilitation. For optimal recovery, we may recommend physical therapy and other orthopedic rehabilitation services as an outpatient.
