Skagit Regional Health has International Board Certified Lactation Consultants who are here to help new moms with breastfeeding. The consultants may see you soon after delivery to help initiate breastfeeding and then after you go home to help provide assistance.

Lactation consults include:

  • Providing assessments related to breastfeeding.
  • Creating an individualized feeding plan.
  • Discussing ways to improve the breastfeeding experience.
  • Providing support and encouragement to enable mothers to meet their breastfeeding goals.
  • Communicating with the pediatrician and the mother's primary care provider to promote Skagit Regional Health's family-centered care approach.
