Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) for Prevention and Treatment

Many of our family medicine doctors offer Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) to patients in which they use stretching, gentle pressure and resistance techniques to treat and prevent additional illnesses or injuries. OMT has been shown to relieve pain, promote healing and increase mobility. Many of the family doctors using OMT have Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degrees and are fully licensed physicians who provide this expertise across all areas of medicine.

As a teaching organization, Skagit Regional Health is nationally accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Our Graduate Medical Education Program provides community-based training of osteopathic physicians, as well as traditional Doctor of Medicine (MD) physicians. Graduate Medical Education Residents practice under the supervision of fully licensed physicians who are a part of our local teaching faculty.
