Furgan Taher, DO is a graduate of University of Pikeville - Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He grew up in suburban northwest Chicago. Dr. Taher obtained his undergraduate degree at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a Bachelor's degree in Physiology and a minor in Chemistry. Prior to attending undergrad, Dr. Taher underwent treatment for cancer. Having this experience further fueled his passion for medicine, allowed him to observe medicine from a patient's perspective and assisted him in understanding the magnitude of influence a physician has on the well-being of patients. He strongly believes that successful treatment parallels a thriving doctor-patient relationship.
Dr. Taher focuses on holistic, compassionate care in a patient-doctor relationship centered experience. Dr. Taher is very passionate about health maintenance and prevention stemming from his personal history with cancer. He uses his medical expertise along with his personal experience to cultivate and motivate patients to take charge of their own health. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He also enjoys discovering new ethnic cuisines, cooking and traveling.
