Furqan Taher, DO, is a board-certified physician and graduate of the University of Pikeville – Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He grew up in suburban northwest Chicago and earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology with a minor in Chemistry.
Dr. Taher provides compassionate, patient-centered care with an emphasis on prevention, health maintenance and long-term wellness. His approach to medicine has been shaped not only by his medical training but also by personal medical experiences that have given him firsthand perspective on the patient journey. He places strong value on trust, communication and meaningful doctor-patient relationships as the foundation of effective care.
His training includes osteopathic medical principles, and he incorporates a range of therapeutic approaches when appropriate as part of a comprehensive care plan. Dr. Taher works closely with patients to help them better understand their health, navigate medical decisions and take an active role in maintaining their long-term well-being. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He also enjoys discovering new cuisines, cooking and traveling.
