Electronic Monitoring Keeps Mom and Baby Safe

During your stay at our Family Birth Centers, your baby's safety is top priority. First, all Family Birth Center staff members wear easily recognizable photo identification badges. We also make sure that your baby remains in your direct care throughout your hospital stay. To further ensure your baby's safety, each baby is monitored through an electronic device on their ankle or leg that triggers an alarm if the baby were to leave the birthing unit. We also carefully monitor each person coming and going from the Family Birth Centers.

Up-to-Date Technology for Cesarean Sections and Emergency CareBirth Center Nurses with Mom

If you require a cesarean section, we have operating room availability, either right in the birth center or a few steps away. We have the most up-to-date technology and services available in our region. Should your infant require emergency care, our specialized neonatal intensive care team is available around the clock to care for your infant in our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Skagit Valley Hospital.

While most birthing experiences are joyful occasions, the expert team at Skagit Regional Health is also trained to help families through any difficult situations such as with a miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn death. Our nurses, social workers and chaplains can help coordinate details and provide you with resources to ease you through your loss.
