Values in Action: Equity in medical education
Equity is one of the five core values for Skagit Regional Health. This value states:
We are dedicated to ensuring delivery of a care environment where each individual has an opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Equity is the foundation of a strong public health system. Skagit Regional Health strives to ensure that every individual—regardless of background or circumstance—has access to quality care. This core value drives efforts to remove barriers and create a healthcare environment where all patients can achieve their full potential.
Providing culturally competent care, addressing social determinants of health and expanding services for underserved populations are essential steps in advancing equity. By recognizing and responding to the unique needs of diverse communities, Skagit Regional Health cultivates an environment of inclusive and effective care. Commitment to equity ensures that no one is left behind in the pursuit of better health and well-being.
