SRH supports cooking classes and local auctions
Skagit Regional Health is dedicated to collaborating with our communities to promote health and wellness. Below is a list of community events and engagements that some of our providers and staff participated in for the month of September:
Stilly Valley Health Connections Cooking Class – September 12
Stilly Valley Health Connections hosts monthly cooking classes taught by a registered dietitian nutritionist. Skagit Regional Health sponsored September’s class, “Introduction to Indian Cuisine,” held on September 12.
Cooking classes are free and the community is invited to attend in-person or online via Zoom. The next cooking class, “Soups, Stews, and Bone Broths,” will be held on Thursday, October 10. To register, click here to attend in person or click here to attend online.
Mobile Blood Drives with Bloodworks NW – September 6 and 26
Bloodworks NW’s Bloodmobile was parked outside of Skagit Valley Hospital on September 6 and outside Cascade Valley Hospital on September 26 for their Mobile Blood Drive. The next Mobile Blood Drives are happening November 29 at Skagit Regional Health – Smokey Point, December 2 at Cascade Valley Hospital and December 4 at Skagit Valley Hospital. The Wonderland Gala Auction – September 28
Skagit Regional Health was a sponsor for the 18th Annual Wonderland Gala Auction. This is the Camano Center’s largest annual fundraising event where sponsorships and proceeds go entirely towards the costs associated with the important services, programs and daily operations of the Camano Center. This organization is dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of the aging population, creating opportunities that support healthy aging, independence and well-being for older adults.
Hospice of the Northwest Foundation’s Annual Ports of Call Gala & Auction – September 28
Skagit Regional Health was a sponsor for the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation’s 24th Annual Ports of Call Gala & Auction. Support from sponsors and donors allows Hospice of the Northwest to provide integrative services, patient assistance and uncompensated care to their patients.
