Skagit Regional Health staff build community connections this summer

Skagit Regional Health is dedicated to collaborating with our communities to promote health and wellness. Below is a list of community events and engagements that some of our providers and staff participated in since May:

Healthy Living in the Stilly Valley – May 18

Stilly Valley Health Connections presented at the “Healthy Living in the Stilly Valley” event at Legion Park in Downtown Arlington on May 18. The focus of this event was health and safety for youth and adults.

Local organizations were invited to have resource tables, giveaway items and activities for community members. Skagit Regional Health’s Brooke Moser, Regional Coordinator Trauma Performance Improvement, Tiffany Newman, Trauma Registrar and Conner Smith, Cardiac Stroke Coordinator attended the event and shared Stop the Bleed, stroke and fall prevention resources, as well as information on Skagit Regional Health services and specialties

Healthcare Career Fair at North Seattle College – May 20

North Seattle College hosted a Healthcare Career Fair on Monday, May 20. This event was open to students, alumni and community members looking for a job or looking to advance their career. John Kae, PharmD, SRH Pharmacy Manager, attended the event to connect with those interested in learning more about Skagit Regional Health, our pharmacy department and job opportunities.

Stanwood-Camano Pride Parade and Party in the Park – June 1

The third annual Stanwood-Camano Pride event took place at Freedom Park on Camano Island on Saturday, June 1. This family-friendly event was open to the community to celebrate LGBTQIA+ neighbors and friends. There was live music, a color throw, food and 50 vendors present.

Skagit Regional Health was a bronze sponsor and had a booth at the event run by Dr. Jennifer Lawrence from Skagit Regional Clinics – Stanwood.

PulsePoint Demo at Skagit County Fire Station 3 – June 7

Skagit County’s Fire Station 3 presented a PulsePoint app demo for King 5 News reporter, Eric Wilkinson. Local first responders were invited to share their perspectives on the app. Paul Ross, Trauma Program Manager at Skagit Regional Health, attended the event on behalf of Skagit Valley Hospital.

Mobile Blood Drives with Bloodworks NW – July 3, 5 and 9

Bloodworks NW’s Bloodmobile was parked outside of Cascade Valley Hospital on July 3 and outside of Skagit Valley Hospital on July 5 and 9 for their Mobile Blood Drive. There were 59 total donors. The next Mobile Blood Drives are happening September 6 at Skagit Valley Hospital and September 26 at Cascade Valley Hospital.

 

CareerMD Career Fair – July 11

CareerMD Career Fairs offer employers an opportunity to introduce their organization to a large number of job-seeking residents and fellows in one place, at one time. Christina Jones, CPRP, Provider Recruitment Manager at Skagit Regional Health, attended the CareerMD Career Fair in Seattle on July 11. Christina had a table set-up and shared information about Skagit Regional Health with potential candidates. There were 82 candidates participating at this year’s event.
