Learn about Hospice’s lending library
The Hospice of the Northwest Lending Library is free and open to the public. It is located in the office lobby at 227 Freeway Drive, Suite A in Mount Vernon. Becoming a patron and borrowing materials is as easy as filling out a form and returning borrowed items 60 days later.
Hospice of the Northwest offers more than 1,500 books, DVDs and CDs in a range of styles from very personal to very practical. The library is arranged in seven major categories for easy browsing:
Caregiving
- Children/Teen
- End of Life
- Grief
- Illness/Disease
- Inspiration
- Reference
The library is run entirely by volunteers and funded by the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation. It supports individuals and families experiencing (or anticipating) loss, providing them access to information and inspiration on topics such as: communicating with children, coping with a long illness, disease-specific resources, caregiving tips and managing grief.
