SRH employees and providers attend event honoring local heroes
On December 8, 2022, several SRH employees attended the Northwest Washington Heroes Breakfast hosted by the American Red Cross at the Tulalip Resort Casino.
This event, held annually, honors individuals who show courage, dedication and unselfish character by their acts of heroism in their community. This event is the largest fund-raising event held for the local Red Cross chapter. Skagit Regional Health has sponsored a table at this event for most of the last 10 years and in December, attendees enjoyed the first in-person event since COVID-19.
Ben Gunn, Regional Director of Primary Care, invites Skagit Regional Health providers and leaders to attend each year.
“Attendees are treated to breakfast and enjoy an inspirational morning of presentations of local heroes,” said Gunn. “This year’s event recognized a Bellingham bus driver who saved a toddler who had wandered into traffic, a man who saved a family from a collapsed snow cave at Mount Baker and a gentleman who has been donating blood for over 30 years who drives from Everett to Vancouver to donate.”
