This year’s National Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 20, 2022.

This event was started in 1955 by the League of American Bicyclists and was also endorsed by the American Medical Association, emphasizing the importance of switching to bikes as a mode of transportation to increase physical fitness.

This day not only encourages people to bike to work, it also is observed as a way to bring awareness about bike safety, road safety laws and the need for biking lanes for safety.

Biking to work

If you participate in this year’s Bike to Work Day, please be aware of the rules of the road and general biking safety tips. There is no shortage of amazing biking trails in the places we call home. According to the League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly State Report Card, Washington Ranks #3 in the nation.
