Urgent Care Sports Physicals

Now is a great time to complete a sports physical with Skagit Regional Health! We make it easy to get this item checked off the list early to help ensure a smooth return to school and sports this fall.

Sports physicals are available at any of our three Urgent Care locations. They are walk-in exams. Be sure to bring the necessary paperwork provided by your school, camp or team. Sports physicals typically last about 20-30 minutes, and if you are uninsured our Patient Financial Services department will work with you.

“Our Urgent Care clinics offer sports physicals on a walk-in basis,” said Dr. Gilson Girotto, DO, provider at Skagit Regional Clinics – Urgent Care Mount Vernon. “Whether your child is getting ready for sports, school or summer camp, a physical exam is the first step in making sure they are healthy and ready for any activity.”

Sports physicals are recommended for young athletes so that any medical concerns or issues can be diagnosed and treated early. If a medical concern is discovered in a sports physical performed at an Urgent Care clinic, it may be necessary to complete a follow-up visit with the child’s primary care provider or specialist as needed.

“It is very important for parents to understand that, while performing the physical exam, if the provider finds a concerning issue that requires further evaluation, the patient will be sent to their primary care provider or a specialist for follow-up prior to the paperwork being completed,” said Dr. Girotto.

Skagit Regional Health’s Urgent Care locations are open seven days a week, including extended hours, making it easy for busy families to get ready for fall activities. Stop by a Skagit Regional Health Urgent Care to complete a sports physical today!
