Read below the story included in the nomination form:

Mattie is amazing in all she does for the patients and team at SVH. To point out one situation would not do justice to what an incredible RN she is. Having worked beside Mattie this past year has shown me her professionalism, flexibility and kindness to all she comes in contact with. She has gone above and beyond when she transferred off her home unit, MOC, to assist in the CCU. Because she has the knowledge and skills to take critical care patients she gave much needed support at the start of the pandemic. She gave total patient care with a thoughtful smile and consideration to those around her. From the full care patient in CCU to the patient with dementia in MOC needing assistance eating their meal, Mattie gives 100% care with dedicated compassion and respect to all. As Charge RN on MOC, she communicates with clear professionalism making inter-departmental transfers appear effortless. Her respectful, professional leadership style gives those around her reason to rise to the occasion as a team. As part of the SVH team, Mattie demonstrates consistent use of the nursing process, seeing the whole picture of patient care paired with resources. It is an honor to work with Mattie.
