Foundation, CommunityFoundation receives largest bequest in its 32-year history!
Mrs. Ruth Christofferson was grateful for the quality patient care she received over the years at Skagit Valley Hospital.

She wanted to remember those who took great care of her when she visited the clinic and hospital. On December 16, executors of Mrs. Christofferson’s Estate – Marian and Dean Flaig – presented a check to the Foundation in the amount of $903,690!
“Planned Giving gifts are always a humbling surprise when we receive them,” said Linda Frizzell, Foundation Executive Director. “Those gifts demonstrate a donor’s deep appreciation for the care they received and for our healthcare staff who assured a successful patient experience here at Skagit Valley Hospital.”
Mrs. Christofferson, who was age 95 at the time she passed away in March 2019, was a lifelong Skagit County resident. She was raised in Mount Vernon, a daughter of dairy farmers, and graduated from La Conner High School.
