On January 11, at the downtown Mount Vernon Lincoln Theatre, television personality and Mount Vernon native Ross Mathews wowed a sold-out audience with hilarious stories from his new book “Name Drop,” a collection of entertaining essays about his experience with Hollywood’s most talked-about celebrities.

Hosted by the Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation, the event was the crowning fundraiser for the Foundation’s $2 million Women’s Imaging Center Capital Campaign. Proceeds helped to support the purchase of the state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment for the Center. The new Center opened for patient care in September 2019 and provides the latest in 3D breast mammography to the community.

Amid the spontaneous applause and laughter, “hometown hero” Mathews shared the most cherished and outrageous moments in his celebrity-filled life and hosted a Q & A period with the attending devoted “Ross fans” including family, friends, classmates, former teachers and Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation donors.
