Germ Busters: Program uses fun to teach hand washing

Oct 30, 2019, 19:52 PM
Germ Busters program teaches hand washing to students in Snohomish County.
Germs in magnifying glass

Stilly Valley Health Connections, in partnership with Skagit Regional Health, offers Germ Busters to teach children – and adults – proper techniques for hand washing.

The fun, interactive program can be brought to classrooms, daycare centers, meetings or events in north Snohomish County and is especially popular as we head into cold and flu season.

The program includes education about germs, how they spread and cause illnesses. This is followed by instructions to properly wash hands, application of “GlitterBug Potion” designed to serve as pretend germs and then test their skills. After washing, participants put their hands under a UV light where unwashed areas glow.

For more information, to request a visit from the Germ Busters Squad or to volunteer as a Germ Busters instructor, contact info@stillyvalleyhealth.org or call 360-386-9918.
