Arlington nurse honored with DAISY Award
JoAnne Torgerson, RN recently received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses! JoAnne is an Acute Care nurse at Cascade Valley Hospital and was nominated by the family of a patient in her care.
In the nomination form, the family member of a previous patient said JoAnne went way above the call of duty with my father. Her nursing skills cannot be topped. She has an amazing bedside manner and her communication with family is exemplary. We cannot say enough about how pleased we are with JoAnne’s skills and amazing empathy. Please give JoAnne the recognition she deserves!
The DAISY Award, presented by the DAISY Foundation, is a tremendous honor for nurses to receive. An acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem, The DAISY Foundation was formed in November, 1999, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The nursing care Patrick received when hospitalized profoundly touched his family. The DAISY Award was created as a way to say "thank you" to nurses everywhere and to honor their work with patients and families.
Congratulations to JoAnne Torgerson, RN for this recognition of your work, providing compassionate care every day!
