30th Anniversary Breaks Record

Gala and Auction2018 Festival of Trees event review

Lights and hearts were aglow among the beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and other holiday décor at the Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation’s 30th annual Festival of Trees. Friends of the Foundation, their families and friends brought their spirit of giving and celebration to make this year’s event the most successful ever. This years Festival raised a record $357,000 in gross proceeds benefiting the Foundation’s Women’s Imaging Center Capital Campaign.

More than 600 gala guests supported the cause with their spirited bidding on 25 elaborately decorated Christmas trees, 10 unique auction packages, tree raffle, glassybabys, wreaths and mini tree sales.

The top two auction items included the “Retro WSU Christmas #GOCOUGS” tree – designed by Stacey Perkins, Melissa Kingma and Jeanne Petershagen and sponsored by the Family of Dave Hansen and the "Sitka, Alaska Fishing Trip for Four" sponsored by Reel Class Charters, Hughes Farms, Maple Wood Farm, Skagit Valley’s Best Produce and Wallace Farms. The “Raise the Paddle”, sponsored by Skagit Radiology, raised more than $45,000.
