Connecting Passion with Purpose
Viry Delgado believes passionately in giving back.
“My Grandma is my inspiration for giving to and helping out my community.” Delgado’s grandmother raised eight children in Mexico while running a small grocery store in her village. “She had more and was able to help her friends and neighbors, sometimes giving them credit so they could feed their families. Her spirit of giving is in my soul,” shared Delgado.
Skagit Regional Health Foundation trustee Delgado and her husband Luis Manuel Sandoval recently gave a gift of $10,000 to the Foundation’s Cardiac Cares Capital Campaign. Their gift will name one of the patient observation rooms in the Heart and Vascular Institute at Skagit Valley Hospital.
“We are able to give this gift through our Mount Vernon business – COA Mexican Eatery. I knew it would help our community,” said Delgado. She is tremendously grateful that Skagit Regional Health provides comprehensive cardiovascular care in the Skagit Valley. “I have personally witnessed the stress placed on a patient and their family when care isn’t available where you live. I want the best care right here for my family, friends and customers.”
Foundation trustee Travis Coulter is excited to announce that the Foundation’s three-year, $3 million campaign has reached its halfway mark in the first year. We are halfway through this fundraising initiative and have raised more nearly $1.5 million of our total goal. Coulter is leading a committee of community leaders that is spearheading campaign promotions and events to bring awareness of and fundraising to this essential patient care service. “You may not need this care now, or hopefully ever, but let’s together take pride in knowing we have the best care cardiac care right here,” says Coulter.
The Skagit Regional Health Foundation invites you to join us to assure the most comprehensive cardiovascular care is available to any patient who visits the Skagit Regional Health system.
