Dr. Stephanie Vega Ramos, who was born and raised in Puerto Rico, said one of her greatest motivations to pursue a medical career was her own diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes at the age of 15. Since that moment, she said she has been treated and inspired by many great physicians who taught her that being a doctor is not just about treating patients, but also about providing good quality of care. Dr. Vega Ramos completed her bachelor?s degree at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and then moved to St. Kitts and Nevis to begin her medical education. She completed clinical rotations around the east coast of the United States and now begins residency. She is fluent in Spanish and English. During her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, exercising, watching movies and television shows and spending time with loved ones.
