Dr. Tavleen Aulakh is a graduate of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA and received her undergraduate degree in Biocultural Anthropology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Her interest in cultural anthropology and her background as a first generation immigrant from Panjab has strengthened her belief that health is multifactorial. A patient's environment, lifestyle, values and socio-economic conditions are strong determinants of their present health as well as their response to preventative and curative measures. Therefore, her goal as a physician is to develop long-term relationships and provide equitable physical and mental healthcare to her patients. She believes she will feel fulfilled at work if she is able to develop a trusting relationship with her patients and care for them in a holistic fashion. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends in Canada (especially outdoors), painting, hiking and dancing for hours.
